Personally, I just cannot bring myself to pay a tenner for a PSF. Just can't do it. However, I quite take the point that 425 people attended the Colchester game at £10, there is no way charging a fiver would have turned that into 850.

but on the same basis, those 425 didnt pay a tenner, how many were season ticket holders? will be interesting to see what tonights attendance is, i reckon around 250 with a majority of those being season ticket holders

Sorry lads. It would have matched the Colchester game but I couldn't come along due to being stuck in a field in Yorkshire with work!

Thanks for the concern about us. TBH the move to Ashford has been a disaster. A lot of people have stopped attending for, I suspect, a variety of reasons. Ashford's ground is miles from any public transport so you have to drive. Unfortunately you do need to be drunk/dependent alcoholic to watch Maidstone on a regular basis. I also think a lot of people saw the move to Ashford as a sign that we were never coming home and just gave up.

At present it seems that we approach another season in turmoil and hoping that we just start and subsequently complete the thing. My own personal view is that we should drop back to kent League and just get back to Maidstone with a lesser ground (if we can). If not County League. TBH our gates cannot get much lower and we might entice a few casual watchers in Maidstone.

Anyway, hope you have a good season and to the writer that wrote about us being a lower profile team I would have once taken great offence. Now I think it would not be appropriate to do so.

Regards

Don't really know why but I've taken a distant interest in Maidstone over the years. I'm really sorry to see them still in this plight. I hope they can get things together and recover from this crisis. All the best to you over there.

Its probably because of the fact that despite being a sleeping giant who were on the up until the last couple of seasons, their fans travel in numbers, make a lot of noise to get behind their club, and have never displayed the arrogance sometimes associated with big clubs.

I hope for their fans sake they can get back to Maidstone, because if they do they have they will kick on and be succesful like Chelmsford have upon their return home.

Interesting development for Maidstone. Folb certainly has shown hes willing to sink his own cash into sport for the love of the game with Lashings, so this really does have the potential to be the turning point for them if anything comes of it.

David Folb has shown an interest in the club before, but nothing came of it. The problem is he believes (and he's probably right) that the club isn't worth anything so what he's prepared to offer is probably a long way from what Paul Bowden-Brown is looking for. Still, this time round PBB has said he's prepared to write off what he's owed by the club so who knows, maybe this time it can move forward.
